Shape of The Book is a 20-page visual booklet with a wrap-around cover. The text is sourced from a chapter from Alberto Manguel's A History of Reading, published in 1996. The content covers the evolution in publication design from the Gutenberg printing press to the Penguin Publishing Group which is reflected in the photographs. Photos were taken in rare book rooms, libraries, antiquarian book fairs, museums, and book stores in San Francisco, CA and San Antonio, TX.
Pages are saddle-stiched with embroidery floss. The cover is tiled with paper medical tape.
